Lehigh Valley Trick or Treat: What You Need to Know


If you're new to the Lehigh Valley, you may not be aware of one quirk that newcomers often find particularly confusing: trick or treating doesn't happen on Halloween — different townships and cities schedule specific trick or treat times. This is done for a few reasons:

  • Trick or treat times are usually scheduled for weekends, so that in the event Halloween falls on a weeknight, families can still celebrate without worrying about school the next morning
  • Safety — this ensures everyone is out together earlier in the day
  • Resourceful trick or treaters and their friends can go to other towns to maximize their Halloween bounty (though I doubt this is an official motivation)

If you don't keep this in mind, you may find yourselves setting out to trick or treat on Halloween night, only to find you're the only ones on the street! You'll want to make sure to stay up-to-date on trick or treat times, and while times haven't been decided yet, as October 31st approaches you can get this news from the following sources:
