Happy Holidays from LINC!

By: Donna Cornelius, LINC Executive Director

Holidays are celebrated in many forms, and although I celebrate one specific holiday, for me it means being with family and friends! I do not live near family as I, like you, moved away from family a long time ago. Fortunately, we are not too far away to gather a couple of times throughout the year.

Not having family nearby and being in a new area where you may not have many friends can be a bit lonely around the holidays. But, thankfully, as it is Thanksgiving and I truly believe in counting our blessings, LINC -- holding true to its name -- is all about the CONNECTION!

The beauty of working at LINC is we get to celebrate people, not just the holidays! People from across the state, across the country, across the world -- people from many diverse cultures -- no matter what, there is a common thread: the need to get through the move, find a community and have a place to call home. One of the great ways to make this happen is to meet new people -- and what better time to do so than at LINC’s annual holiday event?

So, whether you are celebrating:

  • Saint Nicholas Day (Christian)
  • Fiesta of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Mexican)
  • St. Lucia Day (Swedish)
  • Hanukkah (Jewish)
  • Christmas Day (Christian)
  • Three Kings Day/Epiphany (Christian)
  • Boxing Day (Australian, Canadian, English, Irish)
  • Kwanzaa (African American)
  • Omisoka (Japanese)
  • Yule (Pagan)

Or any other holiday, we hope you will join us on Saturday, December 2nd from 2 – 4 p.m.  Meet the wonderful individuals and families that, just like you, are working to make the Lehigh Valley home! Be sure to RSVP by Tuesday, November 28, 2017 by clicking here
